Jaycee Dugard Files Lawsuit Against US Federal GovernmentThere are many times, when Jaycee Dugard has made the headline around the world—when she was kidnapped, when she was found—when her kidnappers were found guilty—when she gave an exclusive interview to the ABC and spoke about her days which she spent kidnapping.

And now Jaycee Dugard is making headline again because she sued the federal government and accused it of failing to monitor the felon. According to the Reuters, the complaint has been filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco.

Jaycee Dugard now 31, kidnapping and raping case that 60-years old Phillip Garrido was sentenced to 431 years by a California court after pleading guilty to kidnapping and 13 sexual assault charges, including six counts of rape and seven counts of committing lewd acts captured on video.

ABC News‘ exclusive interview by Diane Sawyer, which aired Sunday, was occasionally revealing. Dugard opened up about her experiences at the hands of her captors, Phillip Garrido, 60, and Nancy Garrido, 55.

Nancy Garrido was arrested in 1972 also and charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl, but the case did not go to trial after the girl declined to testify.

The kidnapping of Jaycee Lee Dugard occurred on June 10, 1991, when she was 11 years old. Dugard was abducted from a school bus stop within sight of her home in South Lake Tahoe, California. Jaycee Dugard said in testimony to a grand jury that she was zapped with a stun gun while being taken from a South Lake Tahoe street at age 11.
