Kanimozhi Raja Marriage, Kanimozhi Raja AffairThe court on Friday ordered “forthwith” arrest of DMK MP Kanimozhi and Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar after rejecting their bail pleas in the 2G spectrum case. Also present in the courtroom on Friday were former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura, Swan Telecom promoter Shahid Balwa, Raja’s aide R.K. Chandolia, Vinod Goenka of Swan Telecom and Sanjay Chandra of Unitech.

DMK MP and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi moved a bail application in the 2G scam case on Friday. The Hindu reports that minutes after the court pronounced its order, some of DMK supporters broke down while others were seen making frantic calls. Most of Karunanidhi’s senior cabinet colleagues, including son and deputy chief minister MK stalin, turned up at DMK patriarch’s Gopalapuram residence but none of the leaders intreacted with the media personnel there.

“The bail applications are dismissed. Both the accused be taken into custody forthwith,” Special CBI Judge OP Saini said. According to some media sources, aspecial Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court Friday deferred till Saturday its decision on the bail plea by DMK parliamentarian Kanimozhi, named a co-conspirator in the 2G spectrum allocation case. The daughter of DMK chief M Karunanidhi has been arrested including and Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi and four others in the 2G spectrum scam case.

Kanimozhi’s counsel Ram Jethmalani arguing dramatically said in court in the DMK MP’s defence, “Is it my misfortune to be Karunanidhi’s daughter?” Thousands of DMK workers, carrying placards, denouncing the detention, were arrested by the police near the Nageswara Rao Park in Mylapore.

It is said in he chargesheet, “The investigation has disclosed that there are a number of circumstances… which together conclusively establish that the amount of Rs 200 crore paid by Dynamix Realty to Kalaignar TV through Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables”… Sri Lankan fisherman abducted the Indian members and have reportedly handed them to the authorities of Sri Lanka.
